    Carers Pledge

    In order to improve the lives of carers in our area and to further enhance the services already provided by GPs and hospitals, the Derbyshire Carers Association (DCA) have launched a Carers Pledge. Fully supported by the NHS North Derbyshire CCG this initiative was developed after the DCA consulted carers throughout Derbyshire, who have highlighted the need for more support from their local GP Practices.

    Two hugely important pieces of legislation passed through Parliament earlier this year and are now signed into the Statute Books. They were the Children and Families Act 2014 and the Care Act 2014. Both will have a huge impact on Carers.

    As part of an innovative new project by Derbyshire Carers Association (DCA), 28th August saw Young Carers flocking to the Post Mill Centre, South Normanton for a well-earned Celebration Event, attended by VIP guests – the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield, Councillor Alexis Diouf and Mrs Vickey-Anne Diouf.
