Celebration at the Spire - Calling all Carers!

About us

Derbyshire Carers Association was founded by Gerry Fryer in 1988 following circumstances which found him in the caring position as described by himself here.

Once he realised how little support there was for Carers Gerry aimed for and met his aspiration for Carer support provision.

With the help of some other Carers, Derbyshire Carers Association gained it’s first paid employee in 1989, this has now grown to over 30 dedicated and passionate employees as well as a large number of volunteers.

Celebration at the Spire - Calling all Carers!

Why not come along and become part of our seasonal celebrations on the 8th December at the world famous ‘Crooked Spire?’

This Derbyshire Carers’ special event (to be held from 12 noon at Saint Mary and All Saints Church, Church Way, Chesterfield, S40 1XJ) will offer you the golden opportunity to meet with other carers from across the county, both old friends and new, in a relaxed and informal setting. It will also give you the chance to meet representatives from a variety of agencies including DCA staff, who will be there to provide information, support and advice.

All carers, friends and families are invited to attend this event which will include a celebration service led by the Revd. Patrick Coleman and attended by local dignitaries.

The service will include a choir singing carols and poetry readings, followed by other fun activities.

Refreshments, including mince pies, will be provided, along with the opportunity to mingle informally with fellow carers. This year refreshments are sponsored by HSKS Greenhalgh.

To confirm your attendance and find out about transport please contact us at our Head Office, Ripley on 01773 743355 or email info@derbyshirecarers.co.uk
