Carers Awareness training sessions - Understanding and Supporting Carers

Did You Know? NHS hospital trusts must now involve unpaid Carers in discharge planning.

To help meet this duty, the H-Connect Project is offering free online training for NHS professionals and volunteers across Derby & Derbyshire. These one-hour sessions will increase your confidence in recognising, involving, and supporting carers in hospital settings.

What you’ll learn

• Understand what a ‘Carer’ is
• Explore the impact of Caring
• Identify Carers in hospital settings
• Involve Carers in discharge planning
• Know where to signpost for support

Our H-Connect online Carers Awareness training session is free to help professionals working within NHS Derby and Derbyshire hospitals to learn more about Carers and how you can support Carers.

The session is designed to increase professional’s knowledge about Carers, their rights, and to increase understanding about some of the issues Carers face. It includes contributions from Carers and provides up-to-date information about specialist support services for Carers across Derby and Derbyshire. It lasts for one hour and can be accessed via MS Teams. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
