Something powerful is happening in Derbyshire-and it starts with listening.

On the 6^th August, Carers from culturally diverse communities came together for a special Listening Event in Derbyshire, hosted through a dynamic partnership between Links CVS and Derbyshire Carers Association. This wasn’t just another meeting-it was a moment of connection, reflection, and action.

The event brought together voices from across the region, with support from key initiatives and projects including Carers Voice, Carer Money Matters, Reimagining Carers Assessment and Hconnect. Together, a safe and welcoming space for Carers to share their lived experiences-what’s working, what’s missing, and what truly matters.

This is partnership working at its best: organisations uniting with purpose, listening deeply, and co-designing a future that reflects the real needs of Carers. The insights gathered will directly inform the development of future Carer provision-one shaped by Carers, for Carers.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us on the day-your presence and contributions made this event truly special. And to the amazing carers who shared their stories: we couldn’t have done this without you. Your voices are the foundation of everything we’re building.
