Working alongside education settings to strengthen identification and support for pupils with caring responsibilities.
The Education Liaison role supports schools and colleges to develop confident, consistent approaches to identifying and supporting Young Carers.
We work in partnership with education settings to embed support into everyday practice-making it easier to recognise Young Carers early and respond in ways that are meaningful, proportionate, and sustainable.
We work collaboratively with:
- Primary schools
- Secondary schools
- Colleges and sixth forms
- Academy trusts
- SEND teams
- Safeguarding leads
- Pastoral teams
- Governors
Young Carers may provide practical or emotional support to a family member with illness, disability, mental health needs, or substance misuse-often alongside their education. Many remain unidentified, meaning their needs can go unnoticed.
By working together, we help ensure Young Carers are seen, supported, and able to succeed, with the opportunity to fully engage in school and maintain their right to dream.
Our role is to work alongside schools-not add to workload, but to support what is already in place.
