DAACSS offers practical, tailored support to help schools feel confident in recognising Young Carers and responding in ways that are supportive, manageable, and easy to put in place.
Derbyshire Carers Association works in partnership with schools, trusts and education professionals to help identify and support Young Carers.
Through guidance, staff awareness, and practical resources, we support education settings in building a whole-school approach that sees, supports, and enables Young Carers to succeed.
Young Carers often balance their education with caring responsibilities at home. This can affect attendance, well-being, and achievement-but with the right support in place, schools can make a life-changing difference.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that every Young Carer has the right to dream, and that no child’s future should be limited by the responsibilities they carry.
