Derbyshire All Age Carers Support Service can offer ‘Carer Awareness Training’ to your GP Practice, so that all staff, or those who are public-facing, are more ‘carer aware’ and able to support & connect Carers with information and advice.
This training is free to Derbyshire GP Practices. The training session usually take approx. 1.5hours and can be delivered face-to-face or over the ‘Teams’ online format.
The training also forms part of the criteria towards the Practice gaining our ‘Carer Friendly Quality Mark’.
The Carer Awareness training session includes:
- Learning who carers are
- Understanding the impact of the caring role
- Understanding what steps to take if they identify a carer
- Understanding the support available to carers
- Understanding how to become more carer friendly
- Suitable for the practice team including GPs and administrative staff.
