Congratulations to the Carers Network at UHDB for their award nomination in the Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity Living our Values Award, as part of the annual Making a Difference Awards.  The Carers Network led by Jemma Walker (right) and deputy Rachel Kirby (middle) supports colleagues who are unpaid carers for relatives and friends.

Working with Derbyshire Carers Association, the network has developed a carers passport to allow line managers to more fully support carers at UHDB, and have worked collaboratively on the updated special leave policies, giving working carers a voice and safe space to explore carers issues and raise awareness of the support available to balance working and caring responsibilities.  The Network has more than 130 members and continues to grow.
