I get a lot from knowing I am helping but in addition, we have some good chats and it also often ends up cheering me up as well, it’s a two-way thing!''

 

''I started telephone befriending in January 2021. I’m a working mum, but I’m lucky enough to run my own business and work from home which means I can take a little bit of time out of my day to make phone calls. Since the start, I have Befriended 4 carers – I ring each of them at an agreed time once a week and we chat for about 20 mins. So it’s not a lot of time out of a full week that I am giving up, I can easily fit the time in.''
