We have been busy with activities for Young Carers this summer and here is our second round-up of what we have been doing.
Mill Base Adventure centre
Young Carers from the Amber Valley and Erewash area joined us for a morning of canoeing at Kings Mill Reservoir. They learnt how to steer the canoe, work as a team and balance standing up in the middle of the water. Everyone had a great time and they all want to do it again!
Mount Cook Adventure centre
Titan trust funded a day of adventure at Mount Cook Adventure Centre in Wirksworth for Young carers from the Matlock, North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield areas.
They spent the day doing team building games, archery, orienteering, indoor climbing, land kart building, tag archery, rock scrambling and outdoor rock climbing.
They all had an incredible day but were exhausted by home time.
Wild things
Young carers aged 16-24years spent the afternoon in Ambergate woods with Wild Things Outdoor Education. It was lovely to take a step back from their caring duties to take time out for themselves and enjoy spending time with nature.
